The Universityof Illinoisin Urbana/Champaign has 38,000 students. It is estimated that there are 3,300 Jewish students, the vast majority from the Chicagometropolitan area. The University is located in the twin cities of Champaignand Urbana. Their combined population is about 100,000. The Canpus Kollel is located about a 2 1/2 hour drive south from Chicago.

Shlichim Rav Yitzchak and wife Rachel are the Jewish education component of this Hillel for all of its students. They are currently running a weekly parshat hashavua class, beginners Talmud class, Rosh Chodesh women's group, and women's class focusing on mitzvot ben adam l'chavero, one time classes focusing on the holidays and other topics, as well as one on one chevruta learning for men and women.

They also have greatly strengthen the celebration of Shabbat and the holidays at the Hillel. They frequently camp out at the Hillel over Shabbat and have started a regular Shabbat lunch at the Hillel that has been extremely successful.
