Welcome to the Des Moines TMT Kollel!
The Torah MiTzion (TMT) Des-Moines Kollel was opened in 2005. The city of DM is the capitol of the state of Iowa, in the mid-west of the 
US. It's a quiet town, with a relatively small Jewish community.
The Kollel contains one family, and is active in various fields. On its second year, the Kollel was involved with the establishment of a new Jewish day-school in DM for the ages of 3-6: TAG Academy! TAG is a Jewish school based on Montessori methodology, and we serve in senior staff and teaching positions.
The Kollel is also in charge of the Judaic program at a local non-Jewish school for ages 6-13. A once-a-week youth movement, named "Jewish Pride Club" was also founded and is operated by the Kollel.
In addition to the youth work, the Kollel reaches out to the local area campuses. Durign the past year (2007), we ran a succesful program in two campuses, tying college students to their Jewish heritage. To watch a short videoclip, go to: http://www.torahmitzion.org/desmoines/section.asp?id=442 .
As a family, the community work includes Shabbat meals hosting for various people of all afiliations.
Torah studies take place in the orthodox synagogue library, as weekly Chavrutot as well as a Shiur for adults. Our one-on-one learning includes Bat Mitzvah program, bride and groom teaching and more.
