The goal of the Kollel Fellowship Program of the Hebrew Academy of Greater Washington is to become a Learning Center that will strengthen the study of Torah in our school and community and promulgate Torah values and their way of life. This learning center will take the form of a Beit Midrash, in which Torah scholars and their students will emmerse themselves in study and practice of Torah. The objective is to promote and teach the lofty goals of Torat Yisrael, Am Yisrael and Eretz Yisrael.
This program will strengthen Torah study at all levels in the school and will reflect our philosophy of centrist Judaism and love of Zion. It will actively engage the school’s lay and professional leadership, its faculty, students and parent body.
In addition, the talents and spirit of the Kollel faculty will be shared by their residing in different communities and through their leading adult classes, lectures, Shabbatonim, etc. in institutions outside the school.
The Kollel is currently learning 'Hilchot Eruvin'.
מטרת תכנית הכולל בשיתוף פעולה עם ישיבת בית יהודה הוא לספק מרכז למידה אשר יחזק את לימוד התורה בבית ספרנו ובקהילה ויקנה את ערכי וחיי התורה למשתתפים. מרכז הלמידה הזה יהיה בית מדרש שבו תלמידי חכמים ותלמידיהם יבלו בלימוד התורה וקיום המצוות. המטרה היא ללמד ולחזק את ערכי תורת ישראל, עם ישראל, וארץ ישראל.
התכנית תחזק את לימוד התורה בכל הרמות בבית הספר ותשקף את עקרונות יהדות ואהבת ציון. התכנית תכלול את הנהלת בית הספר - גם צוות לימודי קודש וגם צוות לימודי חול, המורים, תלמידים, והורים.
בנוסף לזה, הקהילה תזכה להנות מחברי הכולל אשר גרים בשכונות שונות ומעבירים שעורים למבוגרים, הרצאות, שבתונים, וכו' במוסדות שונים אחרים.
